Dirty Tricks?

One of the realities of politics is that not everyone is going to agree with you. Talking that for granted, I am pretty accepting of criticism and differences. You know, "I disagree, but I'll defend your right to your opinion." However, when someone translates their difference into improper action, I don't back down. Someone defaced one of my signs along the road. When I saw it, I stopped at the house and ask if I could remove it. That was agreeable with the owner who knew nothing about the sign. The next day I got a call from an individual who said that they had spray painted the sign as a "prank" and wanted to apologize. I immediately accepted the apology. I asked to meet with the person because I wanted to hear their views directly -- if I may message was somehow the cause of their action, I want to understand how my words had become so misunderstood. So we met today. It was a brief one-on-one meeting. I quickly understood that the prank was just that -- a silly impulse of poor judgment. I thanked the individual for meeting with me and said that I considered the incident over. rite Lee".
