Careers Buzz Eggleston's editorial in the Calaveras Enterprise on Tuesday dealt with campaign slogans. He suggested "Are you better off today than you were 24 years ago?" What do you think? During the past 24 years, the incumbent has been in the same job. Here's a summary of what I did in those years: In 1984, I was managing the Purchasing Department of the Manufacturing Division of the Hewlett Packard Company. In 1988, I was the Information Technology Manager for the Golden Gate Area for HP. In 1992, I was the Global Supply Chain Champion for HP's Personal Computer Group. In 1996, I was a Senior Managing Consultant advising corporations and government agencies on how to modernize their operations. In 2000, I retired from HP after 20 years of increasing responsibilities with a great company. After a short break, by 2004, I was the Information and Planning Manager for the Early Childhood Services program at the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency. In 2008, I hope to become your elected Supervisor. As you know, our campaign slogan is "Because Changing Times require a Change in Leadership". Obviously, my career shows that I live by that slogan.
