Coming Soon

Yes, I was busy as this bee in our yard yesterday.  The morning was

spent preparing for the various candidate forums coming up over the next two months.  Please see the Events listing for dates and times.

The afternoon started with the PEG Commission meeting at the Library in San Andreas.  The topic that drew me to the meeting was the question about equal time for all candidates on the public access channel 7.  As a supporter of open government and the people's right to know, I feel it is vital that public-sponsored media have guidelines for fair, equitable public access to public television resources.  I was very pleased that the commissioners took their responsibilities seriously and thoughtfully.  They will be developing guidelines in the near future.

Marilyn and I attended a soup klatch in the evening.  This event was really fun and tasty -- home-made Italian sausage soup was featured.  The guests sat around the dinning table to eat and we discussed the District 4 issues.  These informal question-and-answer sessions are the ideal way to meet voters and potential supporters.  They really control the discussion with their questions.  I listen to the questions carefully as each one offers a personal insight into how local government is perceived.   It is very gratifying to see individuals pick up campaign buttons and/or a signs at the end of the klatch.  Thank you to all who attended.

If you would be interested in hosting a klatch (coffee, tea or soup), please use the "Write Lee" link to arrange a date.
