Fresh Perspectives
Calaveras County will
continue to change. This issue in this election is
whether we the people will shape the impact of change or
continue to be its victims. In August, 2000 Lee closed
out a 24 year business career. He retired from the
Hewlett-Packard Company as a Senior Managing Consultant.
The 1980s and 90s were
truly years of rapid change; Lee became a recognized
expert in helping organizations creatively respond to
new technologies and shifting markets. One
highlight of his service was the period he spent
advising the United States Department of Defense in the
modernization of its supply chains. For his
service, he was presented a "commander's coin" by Roger
W. Kallock, Deputy Under Secretary for Logistics.
Lee's talents as a
"change agent" helped organizations grow and create jobs
by improving their use of technologies and "best
practices." Many of the best practices were
developed right on the factory floor to increase product
quality, reduce costs and time to market. Other best
practices were developed by blending commercial and
governmental innovations to create new opportunities for
partners. Drawing on his teaching background, Lee
proved to be an effective communicator in sharing such
best practices. Lee will bring his record of
facilitating effective change to the Board of
Supervisors.
"I'm running for Supervisor because changing times require a change in leadership." -- Lee Seaton
