An Independent Candidate

Fact-based Decision-making in the Public Interest

Whether it is determining how best to preserve a local historical landmark or understanding the complex local and regional water issues in the Central Sierra, public policy must be based on facts, not ideology or the private interests of a favored few.  Lee is a hands-on fact finder, who draws on his business and academic skills to test alternatives and arrive at sound decisions.

Lee's approach to making decisions is based on listening first, discussing the possible alternatives, then developing the most practical solution.  His record testifies to his independence.

Lee doesn't accept money from any interest group, corporation, business, or political action committee.

Open Government and Public Participation

In seeking the very best way to do the public's work, it is vital that leaders engage in the most open and transparent processes possible.  Lee has consistently advocated and participated in workshops to expand the public's involvement in key issues, such as transportation, planning, and budgets.

Lee brings a, new independent view to the Fourth District.  He is fiscally conservative, socially responsible and values-based in thought and deed.  He votes for a balanced budget every year and helps guide the City to a healthy reserve fund to deal with emergency expenses.  He supports the improvement of public safety, including both the fire and police services.   He supports appropriate economic development with a pay-as-we-go plan.  He encourages healthy life styles of recreation and community service.  His service on the Board of Directors of the Calaveras Human Resource Council highlights his commitment to providing for the disadvantaged of our communities.  He is an active Christian, promoting inter-denominational cooperation and respect.  Teaching night classes in American Government at Columbia College's Calaveras Learning Center gives Lee an opportunity to educate local students about the foundations of American constitutional government.
